Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced AWS Cloud Architect / Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep hands-on expertise in cloud migration, large-scale architecture design, and modern AWS-native engineering practices. The ideal candidate must bring strong experience working on AWS Gen 3 Migration initiatives , preferably within Capital One or similar large-enterprise environments.

This role requires an expert-level understanding of AWS services, solution architecture, API/microservices design, and enterprise cloud transformation. The candidate will play a key role in driving architecture strategy, cloud modernization, migration execution, and technical leadership across multiple teams.

• Strong experience in AWS Gen 3 Migration (Mandatory)
• Prior experience working with Capital One environment/framework (Highly Required)
• Hands-on expertise with AWS Glue or Apache Spark
• 10+ years as a Solution Architect , specifically in cloud migration and enterprise-scale architecture
• Deep knowledge of key AWS services: EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudFormation
• Strong expertise in Microservices and API design
• Proven experience designing end-to-end AWS Solution Architectures
• Served as AWS Architect & SME across multiple large transformation projects Experience provisioning, optimizing, and scaling AWS clusters/environments
• Background in building scalable, production-ready cloud systems including: Load balancers Distributed caching (Memcached/Redis) High-availability architectures Master/slave and failover setups
• Hands-on experience with Java (mandatory)
• Strong cross-functional communication and the ability to drive technical discussions, influence stakeholders, and deliver results
• AWS Cloud Architect Certification is highly desirable

• Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
• Apache Kafka
• Data migration frameworks
• Cost optimization strategies
• Security best practices in AWS

This role demands strong leadership, architectural clarity, and hands-on expertise. Candidates must be able to work in hybrid mode from Plano, TX .
