Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE: 
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Restaurant Cashier. The ideal candidate will handle transactions accurately and efficiently while providing excellent service to our guests. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES: 

• Greet and welcome guests in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring a positive first impression of the company. 

• Process customer orders accurately and efficiently using the POS (Point of Sale) system, including entering items, calculating totals, and accepting payment. 

• Handle cash, credit/debit cards, and other forms of payment securely and in accordance with company policies and procedures. 

• Ensure the accuracy of orders by confirming items and prices with service staff and guests, verifying any modifications or special requests. 

• Maintain a clean and organized cashier station, including restocking supplies, cleaning surfaces, and arranging menus or promotional materials. 

• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally. 

• Balance cash drawers and reconcile transactions at the end of each shift, following proper accounting procedures. 

• Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment. 

KNOWLEDGE, EXPIERENCE AND SKILLS 

• Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role, preferably in a restaurant or food service establishment. 

• Experience handling cash transactions and operating POS systems with accuracy and efficiency. 

• Exposure to fast-paced environments where multitasking and prioritization are essential. 

• Guest-facing experience, demonstrating the ability to interact professionally and courteously with guests and coworkers.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION: 

• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods. 

• Advanced ability to operate office equipment such as POS systems, computers, telephones, and printers. 

• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds occasionally, such as when handling packages or office supplies. 

• Mobility to move around the restaurant, including walking to greet visitors or deliver documents to different departments. 

• Flexibility to reach, bend, and stoop when retrieving files or organizing paperwork.
