HR Generalist

Location: Springfield, VA (In-Office)

Position Overview:

United Air Temp is growing, and we're looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented HR Generalist to oversee daily HR operations at our Springfield, VA headquarters.

The HR Generalist is the primary point of contact for UAT's 400 employees, and the ideal candidate wants to grow within Human Capital as UAT expands across the East Coast. This is a full-time, in-office position that reports to the Director of Human Resources and Talent Acquisition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a point of contact for employee questions related to HR policies, benefits, and procedures
• Manage onboarding and offboarding processes
• Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS (ADP Workforce Now)
• Manage leave administration (FMLA, ADA, STD, etc.) and workers' compensation
• Address employee relations concerns and escalate as needed
• Support managers with documentation and performance processes
• Partner with payroll and benefits teams to ensure accurate processing
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
• Assist with internal audits, HR projects, and process improvements
• Contribute to employee engagement and training initiatives

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
• 2-4 years of HR generalist or HR coordinator experience
• Working knowledge of HR policies, labor laws, and best practices
• Experience with HRIS systems (preferably ADP or Paylocity)
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting

Preferred Skills:

• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
• Experience in the HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or home services industry is a bonus
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification
