IT & Network Specialist

Location: Apopka, FL 

Job Type: Full-time

About the Role:

We’re seeking a hands-on, mid-level IT Specialist / Network Specialist to support our multi-site operations. You’ll handle work orders from intake to closeout, perform network and low-voltage work, deploy and support devices, and keep meticulous records of materials, labor, and costs. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, results-driven, communicative, organized, and comfortable on ladders, lifts, and in ceiling spaces. 

Responsibilities: 

• Work Orders & Ticketing 
• Triage, schedule, and complete IT work orders; document actions, time, materials, and costs. 
• Maintain clear resolution notes and attach photos/configs/logs as needed. 
• Cabling & Low Voltage 
• Run and terminate Cat6 RJ45 , Cat5 RJ11, and Security Wire , label, test, and certify drops; maintain neat cable management. 
• Work safely on ladders/lifts and in tight/overhead spaces (ceilings, network closets). 
• Networking 
• Configure and support switches/routers (VLANs, DHCP/DNS, NAT, port-forwarding, QoS). 
• Install and maintain Ubiquiti/UniFi gear (UDM/USW/APs/PoE devices) and other PoE equipment. 
• Devices & Peripheral Fleet 
• Deploy, inventory, and support Windows/macOS workstations and handhelds. 
• Set-up and support label printers, receipt printers, office printers , and related drivers/spoolers.
• Access & Security 
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electric door strikes and door access hardware (low-voltage). 
• Basic CCTV/NVR support is a plus. 
• Documentation & Inventory 
• Keep asset tags, IP plans, and diagrams current; track materials used and their cost. 
• Coordinate vendors when needed; follow change and approval procedures. 

What We’re Looking For (Required):

• 2–4 years of professional IT support and/or networking experience. 
• Proven ability to run/terminate Cat6 RJ45 and follow wiring standards. 
• Comfort working on tall ladders/lifts and in tight spaces/ceilings . 
• Experience with network switching/routing and PoE devices; Ubiquiti/UniFi familiarity. 
• Experience deploying and managing device fleets (imaging, updates, asset tracking). 
• Strong help desk/ticketing background with clear written documentation. 
• Experience supporting label/receipt/office printers . 
• Knowledge of low-voltage systems and door access hardware (electric strikes). 
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills. 
• Willingness to travel (up to ~1 week at a time based on operational needs). 
• Comfortable working outdoors and in the heat or cold. 
• Valid driver’s license; ability to bring a basic tool kit is a plus. 

Preferred Knowledge:

• CompTIA A+ / Network+; Ubiquiti (UEWA/UBWA) or similar certifications. 
• PowerShell or basic scripting; CLI comfort on network gear. 
• Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace admin experience. 
• CCTV/NVR familiarity; basic security best practices. 

Physical Requirements:

• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs or more; stand/walk for extended periods. 
• Work in hot/cold environments, dark spaces, and with PPE when required. 
• Frequent ladder/lift use; overhead work; occasional confined-space tasks. 

Schedule:

• Primarily Monday–Friday; weekends/on-call as needed for maintenance windows or urgent issues. 
• Travel to other sites as required (occasionally up to ~1 week).
