Job Summary

Alys Beach Construction is seeking an entry-level Interior Designer with strong computer skills and an interest in collaborating in a team-focused environment. This role will provide design support for our established and growing Alys Beach Construction team, based in Alys Beach, FL. As a Junior Interior Designer, you will work closely with Senior/Associate Designers to help develop and execute interior design concepts for residential spaces.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide support and assistance for senior designers, project managers, and field superintendents.
  • Create purchase orders and oversee tracking of products as needed for projects.
  • Generate visual aids to be used by Alys Beach Sales and Marketing Departments.
  • Collaborate with the Design Team in developing schematics, construction documents, and interior detailing.
  • Coordinate post-construction photoshoots with Alys Beach Marketing.
  • Research and development with vendors and suppliers on market trends, new products, and sustainability efforts.
  • Generate FF+E schedules for estimating/pricing.
  • Maintain documentation of all ID files including client approvals, executed contracts, and meeting minutes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or comparable degree.
  • 0-2 years of experience working full-time in Interior Design or similar role.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and/or Revit.
  • Computer skill set to include Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Google Suite.
  • Ability to listen and provide input within the parameters of the required programming.
  • Student / Professional Memberships in ASID and/or IIDA preferred.
  • Experience with working on a team and streamlining internal communication preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with SketchUp or comparable 3D Modeling Programs preferred.
  • Strong dedication and self-driven personality with the ability to focus and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency using Bluebeam and MS Office Suite preferred.

Essential Job Function

  • Drafting and plotting skills in AutoCad or comparable program (portfolio submittal required).
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time in an office environment.
  • Graphic design and sketching skills for presentation.
