Deli Shift Leader

Location: Rochester Hills-W Tienken Rd MI

You’ll lead with care, foster teamwork, and help create a warm, welcoming environment for both customers and team members.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Lead and inspire deli team members to deliver excellent service and quality products.
• Communicate priorities, assign daily tasks, and ensure operational standards are met.
• Coach and develop team members to achieve service, safety, and sales goals.
• Foster open communication and collaboration between team members and leadership.
• Ensure freshness and quality by monitoring rotation, product presentation, and sanitation procedures.
• Train new and cross-functional team members to build strong department coverage.
• Partner with leadership to plan scheduling and labor needs that support engagement and productivity.
• Oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and merchandising to Meijer standards.
• Ensure compliance with food safety policies and maintain a clean, organized department.
• Engage with customers and the community to create meaningful connections.
• Operate registers, handle transactions, and assist customers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.

What You Bring With You:

• Retail, deli, or food service experience preferred.
• Passion for customer service and developing others.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to influence, motivate, and build strong relationships with your team.
• Attention to detail and commitment to food safety and freshness.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, and twist while handling product.
• Positive attitude and commitment to fostering an inclusive, team-focused culture.
