Job Description

NOTICE: This position will be headquartered in an ODJFS facility in one of the following cities:

Rhodes State Office Tower – 30 E. Broad Street, Columbus OH 43215

Akron Delivery Center - 172 S. Broadway St., Akron, OH 44308

Dayton Delivery Center - 6680 Poe Ave, Dayton, OH 45414

The Office of Workforce Development (OWD) administers several federal workforce programs and oversees a network of local OhioMeansJobs centers, which provide free job training and other services for Ohioans looking for work and employers seeking workers. OWD also assists job seekers through OhioMeansJobs.com, an online job matching system that brings both employers and job seekers to one easy-to-use website. What You’ll Do

  • Track and complete projects and initiatives as needed, including annual career fair and other outreach efforts.
  • Review Comprehensive Case Management and Employment Program (CCMEP) policy and make recommendations for changes.
  • Analyze CCMEP data to identify opportunities to improve the program and local performance, including positive outcomes for Ohio’s youth.
  • Ensure that state CCMEP policy aligns with state and federal requirements.
  • Develop and present trainings on CCMEP policy and coaching/career pathway model for state staff and local stakeholders.
  • Work closely with community partners, educational institutions, workforce development boards, and other stakeholders to enhance program impact and accessibility.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for addressing escalated participant or stakeholder’s concerns.
  • Promote a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages knowledge sharing and teamwork.
  • Mentor Employment Service Coordinators and other team members, providing guidance and support to enhance understanding of policy and professional development in relation to CCMEP, which includes Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).


Travel across Ohio for trainings and meetings with local stakeholders and other team members each month

Schedule

  • Standard workdays are Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. with the possibility of an approved flex schedule depending on operational need.


Travel

  • In-Person attendance at quarterly & annual team meetings (location rotates across Ohio).
  • In-Person attendance for technical assistance and training several times a month across Ohio.

Option 1

The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following:

  • Completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management or public administration; 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position.


Option 2

  • Completion of undergraduate core program for academic field of study commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on File; 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative, managerial &/or staff position involving planning, research &/or policy/procedure development.


Option 3

  • 5 yrs. trg. or 5 yrs. exp. in business administration, management or public administration.


Option 4

  • 1 yr. exp. as Program Administrator 2, 63123.


Option 5

  • Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Pay Information

This position is in the State of Ohio’s E1 Pay Schedule, Pay Range 14. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $39.22 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
