Job Description

McKinsey & Company, Inc. US is seeking a Senior Engineer in New York, NY. Develop full-stack applications using technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, Java, Python, C#, .NET, Node.js, SQL, MySQL, SQL Server, and cloud-native databases, with a focus on data security, efficiency, and solution resilience. Adhere to a predefined problem-solving approach, draw well-founded conclusions from the analysis, actively participate in problem-solving sessions, and formulate informed solutions and recommendations. Collaborate with both technical and non-technical team members, ensuring adherence to agile methodologies and product development goals. Engage with client stakeholders in ideation, design solutions, present options, and create proof of concepts to assist clients in understanding the advantages and disadvantages of each option within the given technical and business context. Offer implementation and architecture guidance and leadership to the team based on industry best practices throughout the project's lifecycle. Identify and manage the trade-offs of technical debt, emphasizing the creation and utilization of reusable components. Guide and mentor in engineering best practices, such as design patterns and test-driven development and customer-centric design. Focus on nurturing talent and enhancing team members' capabilities through code refactoring and code reviews and technical leadership. Independently develop and deploy code on cloud platforms like AWS and Azure, utilizing tools such as Jenkins, Docker, and Circle CI and wisely provision and manage cloud resources and implement monitoring systems to ensure a secure and optimized product environment. Set up and maintain infrastructure for a seamless CI/CD workflow, minimizing system downtime. Lead in development and problem-solving across platforms and technical discussions involving architecture decisions, ensuring the adoption of products and roadmaps with teams. Oversee feature prioritization in collaboration with Agile development teams. Lead Agile teams, emphasizing coaching and the adoption of Agile mindsets during sprint ceremonies, work definition, and developer capability building. Telecommuting permitted. Qualified applicants for this position must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or foreign degree equivalent. Minimum two (2) of software development experience. Experience must include: performing full-stack web development; performing back-end web application development with common frameworks: Python with Django or JavaScript runtime platforms like Node.js, RESTful API development, microservices, or event-driven architecture; performing front-end web application development with common frameworks: TypeScript/JavaScript, Angular, or React; using Java, Python or related object-oriented programming languages; relational or nonrelational databases: SQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB; cloud services: AWS, Azure, GCP, or Databricks; DevOps tools integration and development: Jenkins, Gradle, Docker, and Git; performing unit testing, code reviews; agile development methodologies.
