Salary: $100,900 - 147,000 per year Requirements:

• I am looking for candidates with 5 or more years of professional experience, ideally holding a bachelor's degree, or 4 or more years of pertinent experience paired with an advanced degree. A Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred, along with 5+ years of relevant work experience. Applicants should have hands-on experience in both Linux and Windows systems, accompanied by a solid understanding of distributed computing environments. It is essential to have intermediate programming and/or scripting skills in three or more of the following languages: Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, Terraform, Ansible, and so on. Additionally, a minimum of 2 years managing CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Bitbucket, or DevOps in a large-scale setting is required. Candidates should also possess over 3 years of experience with observability tools like Splunk or Dynatrace in similar environments. An advanced understanding of YAML, JSON, HTML, and XML is crucial. Furthermore, I seek individuals with at least 2 years’ experience supporting both relational and non-relational databases (MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, etc.), which includes creating and executing queries, managing performance, and scaling. A background of over 3 years leading a Platform, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Production Engineering team to ensure high availability of critical platforms and applications is also needed. Experience managing a distributed platform, focusing on deployment/release management, provisioning, capacity, and workload management will be vital. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you’ll utilize services to monitor performance metrics and identify unusual application behavior; should issues arise, you will report to the software engineering team, who will rectify the problems.

Responsibilities:

• In this role, you will establish standards for monitoring MUSA’s on-premises and Cloud infrastructure, as well as applications. I need you to ensure that our platform target Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are consistently achieved while implementing the appropriate Service Level Indicators (SLIs) for supporting services. As a vital member of the Critical Incident Response team, you will leverage your expert communication and troubleshooting abilities to assist the team in efficient issue resolution. Collaborating with developers during service transitions, you will evaluate the reliability and operability of applications, ensuring adequate monitoring, alerting, and visibility. Furthermore, you will work closely with peers in Operations & Infrastructure to support the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the platform. Success in this role hinges on your ability to set standards for automating routine tasks and workflows to support our Infrastructure and Engineering teams. The right candidate will adeptly support multiple internal stakeholders facing a variety of technical challenges, requiring strong analytical skills to identify patterns in issues that arise and propose effective solutions. Note that the MUSA Cloud SRE team operates on a 24/7/365 schedule, which means you will be expected to work in shifts or be on call, including weekends.

Our compensation philosophy sets the starting salary range for this position, which is influenced by several factors such as your skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at MAPFRE are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings in addition to the base salary, based on the criteria outlined in the compensation plan. The salary range for this role is $100,900 - $147,000.
