Job Description

Location: Naperville, IL (Hybrid or In-Person)

Practice: Tailwinds Psychology, LLC

Base Annual Earnings Range: $120,000–$170,000

About Us

Our client Tailwinds Psychology LLC is a growing private group psychology practice serving individuals and families throughout the western suburbs of Chicago. Their mission is to provide responsive, high-quality, and evidence-based psychological care with a team-oriented and values-driven approach. They are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented licensed testing psychologist to join their team and grow with them.

Position Summary

We are currently hiring full-time licensed testing psychologists to administer high-quality psychological and neuropsychological evaluations for clients across the lifespan. Common referral concerns include depression, anxiety, ADHD, autism, PTSD, and learning and personality disorders. The results of these evaluations are frequently used to determine eligibility for academic accommodations, workplace supports, and state or federal benefits.

Testing psychologists are expected to:

- Competently administer, score, and interpret industry-standard intelligence, neuropsychological, mood and anxiety, personality, and trauma measures;

- Integrate findings into comprehensive, client-centered evaluation reports; and

- Communicate results with sensitivity, clarity, and clinical insight during feedback sessions with clients and families.

Full administrative support is provided, including scheduling, billing, credentialing, marketing, and AI-enabled documentation tools (with client consent), allowing clinicians to focus on high-quality clinical assessment.

Compensation

At Tailwinds, we believe every full-time psychologist deserves to earn at least six figures (plus benefits) on an annual basis. Compensation is based on license type and tenure with the practice, and is calculated per billable hour (i.e., hours billed to the client or insurance, including intake, test administration, scoring, interpretation, report writing, and feedback).

Full-time testing psychologists are expected to complete a minimum of two full testing evaluations per week to maintain full-time status and benefits eligibility.

Compensation Structure

Licensed Psychologists (PhD/PsyD):

  • Year 1: 55% of revenue billed per billable hour
  • Year 2: 60%
  • Year 4+: 65%

Base earnings range reflects good-faith estimate of gross annual earnings for a Year 1 clinician completing an average of 2–3 testing evaluations per week.

Hiring Bonus

At Tailwinds, we respect and defend the legal right of clients to choose their mental healthcare provider, including the decision to follow their psychologist to a new practice. All new clinical hires who bring a testing caseload with them are eligible to receive a one-time bonus of $50 per established client.
