Job Description

Description The Tax Associate provides support to the tax team by assisting with the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns. Responsibilities include researching tax regulations, maintaining organized documentation, and supporting senior professionals in tax planning and compliance activities. This entry-level role is an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking to build experience in tax accounting and compliance. Key Responsibilities: + Assist with the preparation and filing of tax returns (federal, state, and local) + Help compile and organize client financial documentation and records + Conduct research on current tax laws, codes, and regulations + Support senior tax professionals in planning and compliance projects + Assist with tax notices, audits, and responding to government inquiries + Maintain client records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information + Prepare basic tax reports and summaries for clients and internal stakeholders + Ensure compliance with firm policies and regulatory standards + Participate in ongoing professional education and training Requirements Qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (or in progress) + Foundational understanding of tax principles and regulations + Prior internship or coursework in tax is a plus + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with tax software preferred + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills + Effective written and verbal communication skills + Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
