Job Description

We are seeking Unarmed Security Officers to become an integral part of our team. The selected individual will patrol and secure assigned premises as well as identify risks to staff, students, and patrons.

Currently, the position is for a Charter School in North Philadelphia. However, all hired officers are required to have OPEN availability to work at other sites as needed by UPSS.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safety and security of all STAFF, Students, and visitors during business hours
• Ensure all visitors follow proper protocol when entering and exiting the school
• Monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules
• Warn violators of premise rules and regulations
• Apprehend or expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
• Report any facility issues such as fire hazards and leaking water pipes
• Request emergency personnel for high-risk situations
• Conduct proper bag check and wand for students
• Ensure students are safe at bus stops and train stations

Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or other related fields
• Must have valid experience working with children/youth
• Strong attention to detail
• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to respectfully and professionally work as a TEAM
• Must communicate professionally and respectfully at all times
• Ability to work with the public
• Background Check, Child clearance, and Random Drug Screening Required
• Open Availability (while we are hiring for the school, officers must be available to work at other sites as needed); also will be required to work a Saturday occasionally
• Reliable means of transportation
